London, Ontario Man Charged in Series of Crashes and Carjacking Incident

London, Ontario — A 29-year-old man is facing 28 criminal charges following a series of vehicle collisions and a carjacking incident that occurred across the city earlier this week. The chaotic events led to major traffic disruptions and triggered an extensive police response as the suspect moved through multiple neighborhoods before being apprehended.

Initial Crash – Hamilton Road

The suspect was involved in a collision at Hamilton Road and Rectory Street on Monday afternoon. Witnesses described hearing a loud impact and seeing vehicles severely damaged at the scene. Emergency responders quickly arrived, but the suspect fled before police could question him.


Multiple Collisions Across the City

Shortly after the first incident, the suspect was linked to several additional crashes, damaging public and private property in central and east London. No life-threatening injuries were reported, but police confirmed extensive property damage and multiple road closures.


Violent Carjacking

In a dramatic escalation, the man allegedly forced a driver out of their vehicle near Dundas Street, fleeing in the stolen car. The victim was uninjured but left shaken by the event. Police later located the vehicle and arrested the suspect after a brief pursuit.

The London Police Service announced that the man faces 28 charges, including:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Assault
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident

The suspect remains in custody, and a court appearance is scheduled for later this week.
